This image is from a series exploring the notion of inner conflict related to intuition.
A self-portrait, the image is evoking the opposition of feelings that can emerge within oneself. Whether caused by a simple difference of opinion or a deep-rooted conflict that can leave a person unable to make a choice and blocked in her life, then leading to stress, uncomfortable emotions, and even a distortion of reality. A symbol of balance, the tree represents what connects the earth to the sky, and its trunk, life in perpetual evolution.
By posing in the center of the tree, partially sheltered, I reflect that regardless of our past, and even when overwhelmed by strong emotions, by trusting our intuition, it is possible to withstand the storms just like the deeply rooted tree.
