Liv Mann Tremblay is Britsh photographer based in Montréal, Canada. Liv has always been motivated by the power of the stories we tell and how we can use them to foster greater understanding and connection between people.

Following her degree in psychology, Liv studied photography at Photofusion, London in 2003. She developed her practice creating both independent documentary storytelling projects as well as commissions from NGOs including Coaching For Hope, South Africa; Medical Action Myanmar, Myanmar; and The Testimony Project, U.K.

In the decade since becoming a mother Liv’s work has focused closer to home, and she is currently creating abstract images that give us a visceral and immersive sense of connection to the natural world and to self through her series More Than You Could Ever Know.

Through these images, Liv invites us to reflect on our place within the larger ecological web, urging us to reconnect with nature on a spiritual and poetic level. More Than You Could Ever Know explores Liv’s personal relationship with nature, a source of strength and inspiration for her. Her photographs, paired with accompanying poetry, serve as a poignant reminder that to halt environmental destruction, we must first recognise that humans are one part of a whole organic system. These images take us away from the confines of modern civilisation, inviting us to return to the elements; to the earth, the wind, and the wild.

As Laura BeaWy writes in Looking for Theophrastus, “Things were separated out into neat categories, and it has taken millennia to work out that we live in a web of intricately connected plants, fungi, conditions of weather, climate, terrain… that we are one thing.”

Liv’s work serves as a visual testament to this interconnectedness, urging us to reconsider our place in the natural world and the urgent need to protect it.
