Plastic Pollution series
Synthetic plastic, not what was extracted from rubber trees centuries ago, has literally encroached our lives. It suffocates and kills other creatures along the way who have no use for this manmade monster. An apple picked from a tree is enveloped in a plastic netting. Dandelions that could freely spread their seeds are placed in a zip tight bag. Both these natural species have medicinal properties and are food sources. Perhaps I am being sarcastic by showing how nature is covered, wrapped, or placed in plastic for protection. I believe this gives us a false sense of security. Perhaps we are also trapped in our postindustrial, post- modern ways of life with no resolve.
