Known for her artistic composition and ability to connect with her subjects, Joy von Tiedemann is an award-winning photographer. She has been published, won awards, and featured in numerous notable magazines and books over the past 5 decades.

Joy immigrated to Canada from Germany in the 1970s quickly establishing herself as a fashion photographer. She later expanded into portraits of distinguished individuals. Her archives hold portraits of the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Pres George Bush, PM. John Tuner, PM Brian Mulrooney, PM Jean Crétien, PM Shimon Peres, LG Hilary Weston, Galen Weston, Peter Munk, Heather Reismann, Gerry Schwartz, Alex Colville, Mordecai Richler, Peter Gzowski, and other VIPs.

She also devoted decades to capturing premier architecture and award winning interior design. Joy brings an artistic sensibility to commercial shoots imbuing spaces with a distinct aesthetic. She has collaborated with Diamond Schmitt, Woodcliffe, Lanterra Developments, Cecconi Simone, Siamak Hariri, Bruce Kuwabara, and many more. More recently, she has focused her artistic research on architectural construction. Joy has employed all of her considerable experience in revealing the spirit of the real people, the raw materials, and the immense machinery used to manifest significant properties.
