Blinded Series

The series Blinded is a reflection on the vulnerability that accompanies emotional intimacy. When individuals open themselves up to their partners, they become susceptible to manipulation, control, and abuse. This series explores the dark realities behind closed doors of domestic relationships. This dichotomy between public perception and private reality is the unsettling reality that one can never truly know one’s partner until they are allowed to enter their innermost sanctum. Within this private space, the darker, more insidious traits of an individual often emerge, revealing a side of them concealed from society.

Domestic violence is a pervasive issue that transcends socioeconomic boundaries, affecting individuals in various walks of life. Blinded captures the raw, unfiltered emotions of those who have endured such abuse, portraying their pain, fear, and resilience. While alcohol and drugs can exacerbate the cycle of violence, they are not the root cause. My work highlights how these substances can alter behaviour and amplify aggression, yet the inherent personality traits of the abuser remain the underlying factor.
