Ilfochrome Classic Glossy

As a child and as an adult, I found the properties of Jell-O fascinating. This is series of eight images. Because of the expense of printing these images, I only printed 5 of the eight images and two copies of each.
This image was shot on a light table with lighting underneath. I added many packages of gelatin, so that the product would not melt away and hold up to the lights intensity. It was photographed with a large format 4×5 camera, with colour reversal film.
The print is called a Ilfochrome Classic Print, printed on high gloss paper. Ilfochrome Classic (previously known as Cibachrome), is a photographic printing process designed for creating prints directly from color transparencies/slides/reversal film. Ilfochrome prints are renowned for their vibrant, saturated colors and rich tonal range. Ilfochrome prints are incredibly stable and resistant to fading. However, the process was discontinued in the early 2010’s due to high production costs and the decline of film photography.
The glass is Museum Art Glass, that is nonreflective and has Ultra Violet protection coating, to protect from fading from direct sunlight.
