Unsentimental and pure in his photographic style, Steven Elphick is a successful commercial photographer with over 45 years of experience. This new project had its genesis in a planned trip to a tulip farm that featured about 2 million flowers. After critical selection, some dozens were considered for portraits. The series is ongoing, colour stripped away, design and technical innovations employed. An exploration of the rebirth of nature in springtime is the result. Widely published in books, magazines and some one man shows and private collections, his black and white personal work is simple in its design construct and graphic power.
